Something Old

18 December, 2009 (21:52)

If I muster up the courage, I might actually cut and sew some old flannel shirts together to make a pieced-together looking plaid skirt, but until then, I’m making do by simply buttoning and tying them together haphazardly. There’s something especially gleeful about reappropriating old, unworn clothes into something new, whether by cutting and sewing them or figuring out new ways to wear them. The minute you confine yourself to clothes that look immediately wearable and “correct” is when you severely limit yourself, and cease to exercise the limits of your imagination.
