The White T

I’ve been thinking a lot recently about simplicity. While I definitely love a nice simple outfit, I always have this nagging voice telling me that I should pile on the jewelry, the layers, clash prints, wear odd and unthinkable combinations, because putting on jeans and a t shirt isn’t pushing my sartorial envelope, and I feel like I should never stop playing with my style. But, at the same time, I’ve really been into that unassuming staple, the white t, and I’ve been wishing for a little more simplicity in my outfits. Unfortunately, i’m not so good at simplicity, I always feel like my “simple” outfits are actually “boring” outfits (not that simplicity is boring or uninteresting, far from it). But I wonder if boring is really that bad, or if, instead, wearing a simple t shirt and pants brings minute, nearly invisible details into focus. I’ve been pretty into the idea of clothes that whisper instead of scream, but I’m not so sure how well I could execute that. I could probably never fully abandon maximal dressing, but I’m all for broadening my horizons, so now I’m on the hunt for white t shirts (yeah, I don’t own a white t shirt. I totally fail), but not just any old t. I want a t shirt that is so breathtakingly simple that it is an outfit by itself, a t shirt that is beautiful for its fabric and cut, one that whispers instead of screams.

this shirt is HUGE! i think it would look great on you, or rather, completely enveloping you in cottony textile
